I'm a Pastoral Resident at the Austin Stone Community Church. This is my blog about everything I'm doing and learning.

Pastoral Residency

Our two year journey in Austin

Jesus loves his church – his people – and has placed them under the care of faithful men to lead and love them, equip them for ministry, and to spur them on to make disciples of all peoples and nations. At the end of his life, the Apostle Paul told Timothy, “what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also” (2 Tim. 2:2). My time as a resident is intended to build me up to have the character and qualifications of being that kind of faithful man that God would allow to care for his church. My passion is to serve the church, and be trained to be a faithful and qualified pastor. I will share just a bit about what I’m currently doing in my residency.

I’m leading 3 men through our Leadership Development Program, discipling them through this entire next year, meeting with them weekly and encouraging them towards a greater love, knowledge of, and obedience to Jesus.

Right now there are 6 South Campus Missional Communities that are under my care as a coach. We are starting to work through what it looks like for a group of believers to live on mission, care for one another, grow in their discipleship, and serve south Austin.

God has given believers the joy to make an appeal on his behalf for people to worship Jesus. This year I am leading our South Campus in doing that specifically through connecting new people to our church family so that might come to know, love, and worship Jesus.

We came to Austin Stone so I could get trained to be a faithful pastor. My desire is to learn how to shepherd and love Jesus’ church, and to equip believers for the work of discipleship. I’m continuing my development towards that end as I grow in pastoral experience.

Partner with Me

Would you pray and consider partnering with me for the last year of my residency by joining my support team? I still need several people to partner with me through monthly gifts of $50, $75, and $100.

If you are considering partnering with me financially, you can of course give less or more than the suggested amount – whatever God leads you to give is a blessing and I want you to know in advance that I’m really thankful for you and your support!
